At approximately 2315hrs Rescue Squad 703 was dispatched to Northbound [email protected] Muddy Branch for the collision with one overturned and one trapped. First arriving units determined they had in fact a pickup truck that had struck a state highway vehicle and had overturned, causing the driver to be trapped. Upon arrival of Rescue Squad 3, crew members went to work stabilizing the vehicle using Paratech stabilization struts and adding a cable come-a-long tie back system as well.

Because of the height of the vehicle crew members had to mount the top of the vehicle in order to get good angles to cut the posts in order to remove the doors as well as the posts. With members working on top, inside, and from outside, they were able to extricate the patient in under 20 minutes and have the patient in the hands of awaiting EMS.
