Plymouth Rescue
Plymouth Rescue 1 was dispatched into our neighboring Borough of Larksville for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. Units arrived on scene to find a single vehicle rollover accident where the car hit a hillside at a high rate of speed and rolled multiple times. The car was on its side with the roof against the dirt hillside. The driver was unresponsive and trapped inside the vehicle. Paratech Struts were immediately deployed to stabilize the vehicle while Hurst tools were utilized to gain access to the patient. The patient was found to be deceased and the coroner called to the scene. The Paratech Struts were utilized in conjunction with a Griphoist to systematically raise and stabilize the vehicle so the victims body could be safely extricated from the wreckage by emergency responders. While the victim did not survive the crash, the Paratech Struts were essential in stabilizing the vehicle for a safe, rapid entry to attempt to save the victim. Additionally, they were instrumental in keeping all responders safe while removing the victims body for the coroner.
