Hustisford Fire Dept

At 09:36:50 the Hustisford Fire Department & EMS, Hartford EMS, and our automatic aid departments Neosho Fire Department and Iron Ridge Fire Department, were dispatched to Highway 60 in the Township of Hustisford, for a person pinned in a skid loader. Hustisford Fire and EMS were en route at 09:40:57 with the command car, Engine 61, and First Responder 51. Flight for Life was requested to the scene prior to going en route. First arriving companies arrived at 09:45:05 and found a male patient unconscious and pinned in between the bucket arm and the body of a compact articulating loader. Neosho Engine, Iron Ridge Engine, Hartford EMS, Hustisford Engine 62, and Brush 81 arrived shortly after and assisted with securing the scene, Flight for Life Landing zone, patient care, and patient removal.
Life saving measures were initiated immediately and plan A was the use of airbags to lift the bucket. Plan A did not work and firefighters quickly transitioned to plan B which was the use of our Paratech Hydrafusion lifting struts and chains to lift the bucket arm to free the patient. Patient was removed and in the care of EMS at 09:57:50. Flight for Life landed at 10:04:52. Patient was transferred to the helicopter and Flight for Life lifted off at 10:32:04, patient was transported to Aurora Summit.
